If the bungee failed with the weight being lifted, it would stop more or less where it is rather than drop?
Can't see anything wrong with bungee idea, at 1 time every wrapper would have been used with the same setup on a tractor spool!

That was my thinking too really. I just thought worst case If the lever were to ping back the other way it might drop but I think it’s unlikely. ThanksIf the bungee failed with the weight being lifted, it would stop more or less where it is rather than drop?

Is there a return pipe of some sorts on the knocker? Constant pumping to a dead end (when not using the knocker) will cause issues over time..
Yes, the knocker controls (weight raise and lower + tilt) are connected to the loader via 2 pipes (flow and return). The lever is only set to “constant pumping” with the bungee when knocking in posts so normally less than a minute or so at a time.Is there a return pipe of some sorts on the knocker?
