Many thanks for all your posts very helpful. Just out of interest what gauge / thickness of wire is most used for farm high tensile wire fencing, and in the videos above?

Big fan of gripples here, but using the 'contractor' tool... and having weetabix for breaki..... you can snap HT plains.
No problem with netting though.


Those spirals are amazing..... how do they hold so much tension????
Is it some sort of voodoo black magic? ?

It must be voodoo magic! (y) Just their own tension on the wire, it looks a cracking bit of kit. I must be getting to that age, but I find Tim Thomson’s videos very helpful and interesting!

Those spirals are nothing new. BT used them for years and electric board do

its ok showing all those joining methods but with only gripples can you quickly add tension with a simple hand held tool, i really rate them they are supper handy ad fast, best bit is if you hit fence you can re add tension easily.
