I'm guessing very short round, closely followed by the fert spinner?
Don't really know what you can do about it other than buffer which is the last thing you want to do. I doubt it will cause massive issues in stale cows.
15 day round with dirty water and 2 units of N a day allowance.
The cows that arnt dried off are pumping.

The red stains/patches on the stems are the clue. Wear gloves. The roots from hemlock are unmistakable if you are brave enough to dig some up.

Grown it since we started milking so 7 years it’s a good backup crop.

Ah so you are an old hand at it and yet still get great crops which can be a rare combination, most people take it for granted after their first crop and it descends into a shower in subsequent years as they don't pay attention to seed beds or spraying. Excellent crop and cleans up the ground lovely.

Are you lifting it or grazing in situ?
I don't think there is any right answer in all honesty. The people who lift it around here chop it up and chuck it in a wagon so it's blended with forage nicely.
