Always buy the best you can afford 2k sounds a hell of a lot for a 2nd hand bike though so I would make very sure it's theirs to sell first.
That’s a very valued point, thank you! Basically it’s a lady from my online triathlon group. I don’t personally know her but I know people that do. She’s advertised it there for a slightly less and will put it on eBay next week if it’s not gone.
I didn’t want to spend more than £1500-2000 but I didn’t know how much better this one would be as it retails at £4500 new compared to what I could get new for the £2000.

@mrs mtx That looks really nice, is the colour scheme acceptable??
The bike looks really nice, fancy electric gears. Tubeless tyres should give you a better ride and less punctures. I see it has a 11-30 cassette on the rear, if you need a lower gear for those Welsh hills you could easily get a 11-32 put on.
Looks a good deal, give it a test drive.

Yes go and try it, looks a great bike. The wheel set is about £1000 on its own and together with the electric gears and power meter, that’s where the money is over a ,standard carbon bike with Ultegra group set.
How is the geometry compared to what you have, or want to have.
Ok so I’ve jibbed because the colour isn’t 100% :ROFLMAO:
But I’ve made my decision....
I think this is the right bike ? going to ring my closest dealer next week to see what nhs discount they can give me:smug:

What’s the basic maintenance things I should be doing when my new bike comes?
I currently wash Bertha when dirty with muckoff, I used to spray wd40 on the chain but after the last service the man advise I use squirt chain lube? I don’t overly rate it, my chain is significantly rustier looking. He applied it for me and said to re apply every 100 miles in the wet or 500 in the dry?

Anyway I’d like to look after this one a little better but I just have no idea what I should be doing after each ride/monthly/yearly etc

Just thinking out of the box re. Chain lube.. how about chainsaw oil, old fashioned mineral type not modern bio eco friendly stuff.
Or even 80 / 90 gear box type oil.

Just put some in a proper oil can and strategically / carefully sparingly apply obvs. Not too much each time as it will flick off all over the place....

New stuff always needs nuts and bolts checking for tightness .

Matt suggested chain saw oil, that will be ok?
