What are they like for white/fluke drenches? I’ve got another free 1 to pick up on my next order before long to (y) used white wormer yesterday through a simcro gun (plastic no Phillips) and it was at least twice as long to do them as it is with a optiline gun but I’m not sure if the optiline will work ok with the emulsions?

I’ve used mine for white drench OK and one of my collection came as a freebie when I bought some Fasinex 100 on an offer, so I can’t see why it should be a problem.

Christ I just remembered the one I have on LV is a red fasinex labelled optiline I was given a few months ago as CCF couldn’t give them away o_O

Not trying to be an arse but just putting this here:
I got brought in resistance to all groups to varying degrees buying sheep from the dales at mart, - varying from white only killing 20% of worms to 80% for clear and yellow.... All mixed up and causing hell.
On vets advice they were housed in August and all muck produces was given away to an arable neighbour without stock -to break the worm cycle without using a wormer. This was only a group of 60 ewes brought in mind you. Then they were turned out behind my own homebred flock to pick up local worms and any that were suffering with worms were just sent to kill. Zolvix was then used to clean up this group again before being folded into the flock.
I have currently got only resistance to white showing 94% killed. I've only wormed 1/5thmy sheep this year based on scops - used orange wormer and next will be clear. In time hopefully white will become viable again and I can avoid problems.
How long would the muck from sheep that was emptied out in shed by zolvix wormer or any other wormer be safe to spread on the ground,

Just resurrecting this thread

Was searching the forum to see where others buy their wormers online

cheapest place I’ve found so far is www.prowormers.co.uk

my vets can’t match online so doing some shopping around
Their clik price doesn't look very competitive.
Not priced zolvix with my vets yet. They are generally as good or better than anyone else for most things so I like to support them.

I tend to scan the websites of online suppliers, to compare prices on a handful of products that I know the price of elsewhere. If they are well out on those then I tend to dismiss them and move on.

That site was out on Heptavac, Bravoxin, Zolvix, Clik & Clik Extra, but not by anywhere near as much as some. It all depends how competitive your local suppliers are I guess.
I am fortunate in that my vet takes the view that they would rather sell product at a slim margin, than lose out on any margin at all, so I happy to support them if they are somewhere near.

Yeah £50 to high on Clikzin and £23 to high on Crovect.
Dysect over 20% too dear as well.

I wish we had a vet like that - one of the downsides of keeping livestock in an arable area, I guess :(

Yes. Our guys know they have a lot of competition locally, so need to be somewhere near. Unusual for a vet to take that attitude though, rather than charging a premium and settling for selling less to those clients that never look elsewhere IME. It’s certainly refreshing, and no reason why other practices couldn’t do the same.
No doubt @bovine would have had a counter argument to that though, if he were still here....:(

I’ve bought off these this week, I questioned their Clik prices as thought they were up compared to all their other products. It’s because they don’t receive a discount from that particular manufacturer compared to others.
I’ve supported them for a few reasons, the main one being it’s a young lady who runs it and after chatting to her for quite some time today I really grew to like the company. She makes small margins on products but deals with people well.
I would much prefer to support a younger, smaller company than a larger one as they’re the future and deserve a chance at success just like the corporates did 40 odd years ago
There is no opportunity any other way with corporates becoming the normal. If you want to do the job, do it for yourself rather than contributing to somebody else’s success.

They looked well out on a 5 litre cydectin triclamox. Just had to worm ours this week, lost a couple which is first time in a lot of years at this time of year. Even ewes have been pretty loose this last few weeks and don’t usually worm them.

Hi all,
This is Laura from ProWormers. A member has brought this post to my attention this morning so I thought I’d hop on!

Our prices are constantly under review depending on the current market.
We don’t advertise that we are the “cheapest” around because that isn’t the image we want to portray. We’re competitive in the online market and the more the company grows, the more we’ll be able to offer. Lots more products will be added each week to suit everybody’s needs.

However, what we offer from the get go is a very good service and we look after our clients. We’re in the game with you, as I too live on a large herd dairy farm as well as being daughter to an ex contractor and arable farmer so we like to think we understand customer needs because we’re customers too.
I don’t want to sound so “salesy” because that’s not us!

If anybody has any questions or would like to talk prices then please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Now I know where this forum is, I shall hopefully be jumping onto some threads to offer advice too for those who want?
