Maybe you did start it, maybe you didn't, I couldn't care less. All I know is its you that keeps trying to bang across your point of view on the matter and arguing against everyone that's doesn't think the same. Just like it has been on some other off topics on this thread recently!! I only come on here once a day or so to see various prices of cattle mainly, instead I spend the first 10 mins trawling through endless posts on craps like this.

Funny, I thought you'd come back with a comment about me not posting anything myself. You did it to someone else recently who tried challenging you on the subject.
I don't post much as I don't go to market very often so haven't got anything to report. Likewise I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of the meat trade so dont want to spout stuff that potentially is not correct. We don't all have to come on this forum to post stuff all the time. Some of us are just happy to learn things from others in the know.

Also we dont all like the sound of our own voice!!!!

You obviously frequent markets a lot, and it's mostly good to hear your weekly prices, but as for the rest of it, it's just your own contraversial opinions. They aren't factual, they aren't relevant and they aren't even really that interesting!!!

If you want to preach like some sort of know it all beef and lamb/political/health/general life expert then how about you start your own thread.

By the way, sending cattle to ABP Langport tomorrow, base price of £3.60.

There.... posted something now, not that anyone will give a sh!t!!

Well blow me down with a feather, we can only talk/ discuss things that Devimoan approves of...

And I couldn't care less if you agree with me or not, if you don't like my posts then put me on ignore.

Just a shame that someone like you who contributes nothing to this thread in months seeks to point score/ have a go at someone else that puts a lot of prices etc on here!

If we all had your attitude and didn't post anything on this thread it would get very boring very quick.

As for the ABP beef price tomorrow, its been that price for weeks so your one and only post with a price on it is weeks out of date!

Masks must be worn from Monday at H&H, and emphasising that it's buyers only, cases are rising in Carlisle and a few pubs have been shamed for ignoring the social distancing rules so maybe need to be seen to be doing right. No live streaming on Wednesday either. Anywhere else started with the masks?
Guilty as charged, my apologies. It was more to inform of the new rules coming in tomorrow and to comment that the Marts are tightening up again after getting busier lately than to start an argument on the rights and wrongs of it.

Quite correct to raise the issue of wearing masks at markets on this thread.

The LAA post is only guidance anyway ref masks!

'Devimoan'.......Your wit is almost as impressive as your ability to talk sh!t on here!!

Wasn't point scoring, just saying what it looks like a fair few others on here are thinking.

And your final point is exactly the reason i dont post much on here. Although, just because its been that price for weeks, didn't mean everyone knew it would be the same this coming week..... Apart from you of course, because you know everything there is to know already!

Thanks for telling me about the ignore option, think i'll take you up on that offer.

Anyway.....question.

Currently send all our Angus' to ABP on the tesco scheme which isnt too bad if you hit all the bonus specs, but was just wondering if anyone knows of any better schemes/marketing options?

Similar question. We have some Hereford sired heifers to sell fat. What age can you take them to. Is it 30 months? Will they still got into the scheme if 32 months as they need a bit more time.?

I'm pretty sur Hfd can go to 36 mths . We used to send them up north but don't bother now as they always seem to sell better in the stores at about 27/28 mths . Having said that we don't do many Hfd now so I wouldbe considered 'out of touch '

Sorry to fuel the fire but the Devimoan from Guth did make me laugh.

Other than that Guth is doing my taties in

Is it not better to use a Limousin bull than to pee about with these horrible looking Angus things?
I think you've developed 'big arse blindness', an affliction that results in farmers only valuing cattle that would make Kim Kardashian look to her laurels, no matter how unsuitable they are for their farm or how much feeding they take :)

Well I was selling some 9 month limmys last week for £1170
How many Angus things make £1170 at 9 months? I can’t stand looking at the pot bellied things either

They were good cattle right enough. I assume that their mothers were more than 50% Lim, the same type that you've said struggle when they come up to your relatively hard place? So more feeding, longer housing period etc?

I would like to try some hill type cows to out winter to some degree yes but I couldn’t consider having a big number out or the whole lot. I have some Angus calves here which are off BB heifers i bought incalf and they are horrendous looking things. They will take some feed to get away. Pot bellied can’t grow named sires what a load of rubbish
