The cost of a bespoke trailer would buy a lot of widened gateways.

Are you working the steel yourself and do you have tools like a press brake to fold large sheets? We have an old trailer that was made out of full flat sheets and standard profiles cut to length. It's okay, but compared to modern trailers it is very crude and lacks strength in places.

Looks like we will be going for twin rams. Can't widen gate ways as it will be used on customers farms as well as our own. Doing all the steel work in house, have got have decent workshop with press brake, cnc plasma etc.

Have started pricing it up, any recommendations on where to get suspension/ axles from?

It will also be used on muck & beet, the idea of thicker sides and floors is so less framework should be needed. I haven't done much designing yet but thinking 250x150x8 chassis, 150x100x8 skip frame, 120x120x5 top rails. Folding the sides in a curve shape to increase capacity slightly and strength. 200mm wide post and floor supports. All mild steel, i would think hardox or high tensile would add a fair bit of cost?
Was thinking single ram as it would tip & drop quicker and use less oil. But agree more stress on frame, i have seen bent chassis on single ram trailer.

I would go for a 10mm thick chassis, or 300mm deep.

Regards single ram, do your homework.
I’ve got that on a dump trailer and company made a cock of fitting it and In doing so voided the warranty and coming close to doing me a terminal mischief in the process.
