When it all goes wrong ...?

Supposedly happened just after 1:20 this afternoon, that's going to be a big job recovering that mess. Mate of mine has been called out by his old boss to drive and operate one of the heavy wreckers, they weren't anywhere near the job at 5pm so they are on for a long job.

Lorry driver will be a professional Class 1 driver with a CPC certificated drive and a current medical to boot

Plus he will have a digital tachometer to prove his version of the accident

Weekly or fortnightly vehicle checks, signed off more than likely by a professional haulage industry body, like FTA or RHA

Tractor driver, none of the above
Having been overtaken on blind s bends by a truck driver late for the ferry all the training in the world means nothing if you are late sometimes. But you know f**k it, it was probably the tractor driver so lets just guess at that.

In the words of Jeremy Clarkson.

SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED

Not just speed. Tractors and wagons don't really bend, no crumple zones. So, they kinda explode... also probably bent a little bit anyway. If one of the vehicles had been a car it would now be a cube shape pretty much, and there would be a bit less mess, but probably rather than there being walking wounded there would be dead people.

All well & good for the lorry driver, but if he was texting....

Tractor man could be a class 1 holder as well.

Like all these things it would be interesting to see the final report into what happened (if there is such a thing) but we rarely get to see them so no one learns anything.

Hopefully there isn't a cyclist or someone in the middle of that lot, that one of the vehicles was trying to avoid.
