Fitting air horns

Afternoon folks. I’m looking at putting a pair of Hadley air horns on my case puma 230 just wondering how big a job it is and what way is the best way to do it. The tractor has air breaks so has a air supply but would it be easier to fit into the air supply or would it be easier to get a compressor with the horns. Thanks in advance

Personally I’d rather have them on a separate switch so you still have the original horn as well. T d into the air line coming out of the air tank on the fendt we have, it has 12mm plastic pipe. These types of fittings and pipe are handy to work with.

If your tractor doesn’t have plastic pipe to t into then, then there may be a blanked of unused port on the air tank that you could use.

Also the air horns that come with the small air compressor will work but won’t be that good compared to a proper truck or train horn

But shouldn't it have a pressure valve on it, if it was a commercial vehicle accessories should never drain the air tanks, if the air horn pipe failed
I’m not saying doing it is right or wrong but that’s how most people I know do it
All my accessories (two seperate air lines ) have female pcl fitting on the tank fitting so if a pipe goes I can just unplug the offending pipe

A long time since I was at college but any accessories should not be connected in a way that failure would empty the main air brake tanks, it could be seen as modifying the brake system and could be an insurance issue in the event of an accident, not arguing with you, just how we used to do it
