Life is too short to spend making money. You have to work to live, never live to work only ... but of course I am Spanish ....

By the way tomorrow a friend who grows in very high ground will start harvesting, the furthest north that wheat is planted in Spain, about 20 km north where I live. I finished last week, I said I ended up in late September what to harvest the sunflower

Morning @Spanish would you be willing to further identify where you are in Spain? perhaps I am nosy but like finding posters on here of where they are on Google Earth (this can be added into your avatar), I am aware there are some that pick there local smart place that is not actually theirs but that is obviously what they would wish theirs to be. I've cut 5a rape. Done 15a of beans contracting.now I've nothing till our spring barley 2 or 3 weeks off.then spring wheat probably first week September. It's gona be busy when we do start

Just tried our spring oats. There's a small amount of green visible in the sample but 16% off the combine. It's a bit muggy here today. Hoping it gets a proper roasting tomorrow and we can go. But yes, it's a funny time of year to be looking for stuff to do...

been cutting ours today

difficult to get a moisture reading stable with greens etc but around 16.5% with greens removed

have lost oats to shedding last 3 years so we have cracked on and giving them lots of air and some heat

WOSR and spring barley will be ready next week. Sep 19 sown wheat will be ready next month. You’re not proper north yet! Hope you are enjoying your new challenge.

Can't be that heavy if you've wheat that will go. But welcome to the world of "best get something cut and out of the way".

September is the harvest month as our old neighbour said as he drove his tractor round the bit he considered worth harvesting.

If it’s flowable it’s goable.

Can't believe you didn't go another couple hundred miles further north...... You would be looking at 4t crops of WB!

Yes we made a start yesterday in similar circumstances by the sound of it. Ist test was about 15.5% but it dropped to 12 or 13 before starting to creep back up as soon as it clouded over. Plenty of green though.
