Roundup on skin

Hello,

at my job as a gardener, I spray roundup 5-6 times per year from 9 to 12 o'clock in the mornings. I accidentally spilled about 300ml of roundup on my skin twice. The roundup was diluted (200ml of roundup to 8l of water). I took a shower 2h after the accidents. After the second accident, my skin felt itchy, I suppose because of the roundup. Does anyone has had a similar experience and can you tell me what are the dangers? I read roundup is very toxic.

Go back to wherever you had your (legally required) formal training and check with the trainer there. I’d say they are most likely to know your specific circumstances.

If you’re doing any spraying without legal certification, stop right away.

You accidentally spilled 300ml of round you on your arm? What did you do fill a f**king coke bottle and pour it down your arm?

It spilled out of the container I spray with. I wear it on my back and I accidentally bend down and it spilled on my left arm and neck.

It has been linked to cancer. I would get tested immediately.

is it glyphosate? Thought that was off the market for domestic non professional use.

If it’s the household stuff it’s not glyphosate, it’s pelargonic acid.

Treat it like any chemical burn, run cold water on it for 15mins and monitor, if reaction increases then seek medical advice. And have the product label handy as per your training.

Pics , or make,of container?

No disrespect, but my "Guardian journalist" senses are tingling.

We're assuming you have the correct spraying certificates, nroso membership, PPE, and your equipment is regularly checked to be in good order. Are you employed or self employed?

I know that’s probably posted tongue in cheek but as a comment it may not help us.
300ml of diluted glyphosate on skin is of such low risk that it’s not worth losing any sleep over. If it was a problem there would have been a whole host of spray operators with a problem. I reckon I’ve had exposure to a lot more than 300ml of dilutes product in almost 40 years of crop spraying.

200ml in 8L?? That’s pretty strong mix. What was the g a.i./l of glyphosate in the product you used?
