I see under the Green Deal announced in the summer statement that domestic solar qualifies

Im thinking I could maybe get up to 5k for solar on my house ? @Exfarmer maybe ?

can anyone recommend an advisor or installer I should speak to about this please ? scheme isn't open yet as far as I can see but nothing to stop planning ready for it I guess ?

I have not seen this. You would not normally require planning for placing solar on a roof.
if I was going for a ground mount, and had the space, I would seriously look at one of the rotating systems as that will give double the output and much more usable electricity.
However I have not seen such systems promoted lately.
Are you aware that Hot water panels are far more efficient at catching solar than PV?
sorry know little about installers your way, be careful there are still plenty of sharks out there. If they talk more than 5k for such a set up it is too much.

Its the sharks Im worried about - goggle is full of companies but I would rather work on recommendation

I have a barn near the house with a large south facing roof that would be perfect I think, with a electric car about to be delivered I'm thinking I will use the power or maybe use the car to store it and feed back in through the night ??

Last time I looked it didn't stack up but this new grant of up to 5k probably shifts viability ?

What electric car did you go for Clive? I have a large ground mount system and have been after an electric car for year so I can drive on solar energy.

Lucky man, that looks like a fun car, Tesla performance with German quality build

i have just seen the Renault Zoe comes in a commercial version, very tempted as this could be a business expense.

For price reference I purchased 44kw of ground mount solar for ~30k. We prepared the site and laid the concrete ballast. Just caught the end of tariff around 5p plus export.

You would still get export on your solar. There are also tariffs like octopus agile tariff that pays you to charge your car when there is excess energy in the grid

I think so.
I would like to hook up any future Ev,s straight to our solar panels if possible but guess that some sort of inverter would be needed at least.

im thinking the car (s) could be used as a power store for solar on days it’s not being used and pimp power into the grid

a car that earns you cash when not being used ? i have. friend who works for a company that are going to provide such contracts
