Crash barriers or similar round cattle shed?

You could do a single or double row of crash barriers high up and the stock net along the bottom.
We have h beam posts then angle iron rails x2 above rylock at one bit. Been like that for years but net is knackered so going to replace with another bar or two.

Crash barriers are not cheap now.
Will it be used as a handling pen too or just to stop an escapee? Stock or deer fence might do.
would just be an added layer of security round the yard for shifting cattle from one shed to another

If you're moving cattle to and from sheds or handling pens panels with a barrier or bar along the top would be my choice and it will last a lifetime.
We did one area with 1200 panel with a round bar a 300 above that which worked quite well.

Barriers would be a 2nd choice for me, timber rails would be 3rd.

Stock fences aren't likely to hack it of it's an area where cattle are being shifted or handled a lot.

Especially as fences around yards tend to be short with plenty of right angles, and they'll rot off no matter what you use to build them with.
