This years wool

Going by the sale comments , some types were to sellers favour, some to buyers favour, some firm, some unsold.
Still a long way down on pre covid price.
If coarser wool is say 35p/kg, and costs are 40p, does the supplying farmer receive a bill to dispose of their wool?
How can you say the Irish aren't paying higher prices? Surely nobody knows until all the BWMB wool is sold and the price calculated?

Because the Irish have said they only want the best wool this year. So the average sale price at BWMB auctions isn't even the minimum the Irish should be paying - it should be more.

The Irish don't want it. They were pretty open at the start of the season they only want good quality white wool (Texel or better) - which will be selling well above that BWMB average auction price

I'm fairly sure the Irish are taking swale wool.
Anyways, think we'd all rather have lambs a good trade and wool crap rather than the other way around :finger:

Sent mine in last week and got the payment advice today.

Final Value of 2019 Clip - £xx.xx
Less Advance - £xx.xx
Full Carriage Charge - £xx.xx
Interim Carriage Received - £xx.xx

How anyone can think this in any way reflects the value of this year's clip, I cannot understand. We still have that delight to look forward to next year.

Total worked out at 34ppk, dragged down by the BF wool. Roughly 50p/fleece.

I took ours in and there were hundreds of tonnes of baled wool from LAST years crop stacked up yet to be sold. It will all go eventually and get back to where it was, which wasn't good enough, but it won't happen overnight. £470 instead of usually £1400 ish

I've taken 2 lots into the Newtown depot so far, and was surprised how quiet it was, with far less wool stacked there than normal.

A couple of weeks ago there was a pile of (40?) bales that had apparently just been auctioned, with a near complete clearance rate. They said that, back in the Spring, the auction would have meant only a couple of bales being sold from the lot.
