Avoid nfu they’re sheisters at getting Out of a claim we had a loadall hit our pickup crabbing going down a road at 40kmh lad drove off managed to stop him, the nfu couldn’t find out the lads name if he had a driving lisence etc and aided suckleys of west Felton in getting off Scott free, nfu vs nfu, absolute shower of sh1t both suckleys and the nfu. Now use farm and general, Steve cove is very good!

Surely you should've got police involved, they would've found out about driver.
Also if you had a local office I would've been standing at the desk creating merry hell or mention insurance ombudman. That tends to make an uninterested party suddenly take interest.

Avoid NFU at all costs .

Presumably you've had a bad experience with Nfu, but as with all things if you ask me I'll tell you the truth and I have never had trouble making a claim with them which I can't say about F&M. Twice I had to try and claim with them and on one occaision if I had'nt had a company called accident exchange supplying me with a replacement pickup my no claims was gone and they tried to make me resonsible for an accident on a single track road.
Even though I was stopped on verge watcing the "stupid bas***d" coming straight at me!!!
When I informed the pickup company they told me to phone broker and tell them that "they would pursue them by all means possible to recover full costs"
You know you've hit a nerve when the gaffer in the office phones you back n starts swearing at you;)

Two months of arguing with them must have spent 30 hours on the phone to them, cancelled a few policies with them not to have an empty threat. Take great pleasure in making sales staff who ring to quote us happy hang up when I say I’d not even insure a shopping trolley with you crooks. Was looking forward to making a scene on their next show stand sadly corona virus has stemmed that. If it’s nfu vs nfu you can guarantee they’re going to side with the bigger premium holder. Regardless of photo evidence of the machine crabbing going down the road or the fact that they sent an engineer 2 months down the line to inspect the other parties machine?! Or the fact the lad knew he’d hit us and tried to drive off on a three mile straight road on a 40k machine and wouldn’t give his name, They’re beyond even a joke.

Neighbour dropped NFU for someone cheaper Recently had a mini digger stolen. The firm has tried to wrangle out of the claim for months, demanding both sets of keys etc. Still don't know if they'll get paid. Back to NFU next year!

Which Insurance Company is the best? Thats a bit like asking which make of tractor is the best, everybody will have their own opinion and experience.My golden rules for buying farm insurance would be;
1-Only deal with someone who has taken the time to try and understand Your business and who understands farm Insurance,2-Whoever you pay your premium to takes a personal interest in ensuring your claims are settled, 3- Dont just look at bottom line price, whoever advises you on Insurance should be pointing out what is covered and what is not covered, before you take out cover.
