Pocket/pen knife

Stanley blades/ knife are logically the best option but it's not a pocket knife is it?! Taylors eye witness lambsfoot knife here, holds a decent edge and I find is generally "about right" Shape of the blade means I'm only using the point to open the wrap, saving the rest of the blade for proper cutting work.
Mine is, you can fold it and put it in your pocket, nice and safe.

I’m with @Bald Rick , you can’t beat a good Buck.(y) Certainly not cheap, but my current one is still here after 3 years, which is some kind of a record for me.

However, netwrap plays havoc with all blades and thinking of getting a folding Stanley to leave in the Merlo for that job.
Tried a buck after recommendations on here - nice to use but very underwhelmed as far as holding its edge is concerned. Certainly not as good as the opinel I had before, or the one I had like @hally mentioned. Had that one for years but lost it eventually. Was a freebie from our vets.

Use a folding Stanley for bales now (kept in tractor) but keep the Buck in my pocket for everything else.

I don’t think I could be without my Letherman, it really is a MULTITOOL! Has two razor sharp knives on it, I’ve cut myself more than once when I’ve been careless . It gets me out of muddles constantly, used most days.

Is a bit heavy, but a fair trade off for me I think, considering it’s usefulness.

Extremely pleased to have mine on me the day my best sheep dog went and got herself hung by the back leg from a fence, a long way from the yard and tools!

Have also cut sheep and deer out of fences too

I have an old kitchen knife in the forklift named “the dagger” never seems to blunt and only opens bales instead of being used as a screw driver/chisel/scraper
Also only sharpen a knife on the correct stone, those knife sharpening things actually just serrate the blade so then when your cutting it knocks the edge off the serrations and becomes blunt very quickly

ive got a penknife, witness brand with eye logal, made in sheffield on it, always in my pocket, used for cutting the silage bale wrapping, simple to sharpen by a few deft strokes on the edge of a concrete slab ? support british made products and not expensive had a few over the years currant one had now over 5 years keep it sharp?
