The south of the country still needs a new pedigree / ram centre like Carlisle with good road networks ,with keen dedicated auctioneers (like banbury used to be ) its a damn trek to Builth or even Hereford from anywhere .

For people that need a few different breeds in one year, the nsa still has a place. Three sales tomorrow,Hereford Brecon and llandovery. Toss a coin?

splits the trade though , Builth is a spectacle above all else and the attraction is the sheer number on offer . Its what makes the carlisle / kelso sale , many rings in operation at once

It does seem a bit difficult if you want to buy a charolais and a bfl, just a difficult year all round I suppose.

I always raise an eyebrow when you see someone fetching two herdwicks ( or other very localized breeds from cumbria 300 miles to Builth and wondering why there's no demand. Mainstream breeds, fair enough.

Well, rumours of the demise of the big tent ram sales are over stated. There is definitely a place for sales with lots of people, lots of tups and lots of breeds all in one place.
