Good man yourself. Have to keep the roof watertight! 😂

Another problem with this idea, apart from the fact that someone else has decided to spend your money on something that does not benefit you, is that there are lots of worthy charities out there.

Why does one get favoured over the others?

Does everyone agree with the aims of the chosen charity, and how it's run?

If you had the choice, would you have chosen that one?

Perhaps you are already giving generously to charities.

Maybe you have a considerable debt burden.

It's not the tenner. It's the principle. I think I should choose who I give to.
Exactly! By all means inform suppliers about the need in Yemen (or wherever) tell us about the charity doing work there, offer a suggestion as to how we can help. Don't just decide on our behalf that a £10er is going to be deducted from our milk cheque (a few days after not giving a milk price increase to said producers) without any prior notification.

Interesting one. Different principle though. My body no longer belongs to me after I die, nor is it part of my estate. It's really a matter for the people who have custody of it. Opt in should still be the precedent though, but by all means ask the question of them.
