New Shutdown?

All the evidence suggests the virus was already across many countries by the end of December. It would all have been too late.
It might have,i know people who are convinced they had it before Christmas but is there anything official to suggest this happened?
Why did the hospitalisation and death rate only start to rise in March, if it had been around 3 months or mire earlier surely it would have swept through the population around Christmas with the increased social interaction of Christmas parties and no one having heard of social distancing at that point.

Remember that at least 70% of people are totally asymptomatic.

i don't know why govt is bolloxing about....either lockdown or get on with it.....all this r number...level 4.....rising case levels......act on it or live with it :banghead: :banghead:

It's because they know a proper lockdown is impossible. You haven't had one yet and you wont be getting one any time soon because the government know there's no way they could enforce it.

The figures here in Ceredigion have risen by 100% in the last 3 weeks. It cannot be proved that this is because of holiday makers, but the figures were really low during lock down and then we were flooded with "guests". The place is still packed, all the towns and villages busy as if it was the middle of August.
Many are claiming they cant wear masks, despite it being manditory here now. They are coming from high level areas, and say they feel safe here. Well, I dont, and thanks for that!
There is now a 7 year waiting list for dentists here. I have been on the list for 3 years so far, and it was 4 years when I joined the list. I have realised it is never going to happen. Apparently you can only get an emergency appointment if you are actually bleeding profusely as toothache is not counted.

Would you all like to go home now so I can venture off the farm? Pretty please?

When you say a 7 year wait for dentists, that's not for private treatment is it?

Yesterday I had to go to the next town to get spares. So I wore my mask. I washed my hands many times and I kept a distance from other people simples. It’s your responsibility no one else’s if they chose not to do these things so be it. But the truth of the matter is your health in this situation is your responsibility you cannot expect Governments to put the bad people on the ‘naughty step’ forever. If you are worried or at risk keep away from others.
