So you a contractor I guess?Heavy ground is travelling well, light ground is like flour and just gives in ... have done 150 acre out of 1200 so far so long way too go yet but tbf the majority has been 2 weeks off ready to chop anyways...

Couldn’t believe that worked. Surely the bales will just be 2 feet tall in a week? Was it your gang who had the round baler on the maize clamp, bailing up maize and wrapping it?
Yes, or just drill as it is? Soil needs to be moved prior to drilling I reckonDo you think it would be possible to block off some coulters and drill maize with the Claydon?
No, would like to see thatWas it your gang who had the round baler on the maize clamp, bailing up maize and wrapping it?
we combination drilled some, if you went in it, complete disorientated, no rows ! Very good crop, but if we were to repeat, would use a much lower seed rate, for ripening off, rows give more 'room' for sun, a thick 'covering', just seemed to be smaller cobs, and delayed ripening. Drilled into good seed bed, but we didn't blank any coulters off.Yes, or just drill as it is? Soil needs to be moved prior to drilling I reckon

They do a bit of it in nz, hopper on the front of the baler and load it with a loader. Makes delivering to anyone who just wants to feed 1.ton a day simple and effectiveCouldn’t believe that worked. Surely the bales will just be 2 feet tall in a week?
Why any different to normal bale costs?Client of mine used to do it, would come to the farm and bale it by loading it from the pit. Not cheap.
As long as you can keep the rats away from them!Reduction in fermentation and clamp losses would pay for the baling and wrap. Just the extra handling would be the expense.
