I remember a fuel forwarding pump for the Sanderson forklift was something like £250. One off eBay for a Ford Fiesta did the job for a tenth of the price.
Dad got a stone in the MF 525 and bent the rasp bars to buggwury. Quoted £800 for a new set. Built himself a press and straightened the old ones for about £20.
If we had to rely on main dealer parts and service we would have been bust years ago.

Kverneland plough hydraulic memory and sequencing block. About £1200.
Can buy a respectable s/h Dowdeswell plough for less. And I have never known a Dowdeswell refuse to turnover, unlike Kvetneland. What a crock.
Thats why i bought this

Don’t blame you. Everybody told us Kvetland were superior to Dowdeswell. Not in our experience. A really crap turnover system that fails to turnover at the drop of a hat. A ram and leverage so short it’s under immense stress. Load of rubbish IMO.
I never had trouble with semi mounted ploughs, but i cant use them now as the new holland cross shafts are made of chocolate

Good to see I'm not the only one who suffers breakdowns, here's a few of this years.

1 brain for a mf4300, small and light enough, that it can be carried about by child.

And one jd flywheel driveplate and its male friend, the drive shaft to the pulleys

Nearest wins three worn ball joints from a JCB loadall joystick. The new ones were clearly made of gold, so the worn ones must still have some value :ROFLMAO:

4 pillar cab, door glass.

Case Maxxum / Puma - £180.

Massey 8660- £1,060!!!!
(Rear window £480!!!)

Basically the same thing.

Ps, we seem to break a lot of glass, now a question we ask when buying new machines

FW had a piece about a year ago showing the spare parts costs of various components from 4 or 5 manufacturers equivalent tractors.

The MF was the most expensive by quite some way versus the others.
Guess if you are not selling new ones adding to the cost of parts on the ones you do have out there is manufacturers solution.

Our JCB TM220 has a Deutz engine about 70hp.
Turbo failed after about 4500 hours.
How much? Have a guess!

Again, to avoid the suspense the JCB dealer quoted £3200.
From a retailer on here delivered from Deutz in Germany within 24 hours: £1087.
Two routes to the same product and £2k saved.
No arguments about quality, it’s the exact same product .

A thread to guess the shocking price some manufacturers charge for parts !

It's a Dana spicer axle Clive.
Track rods are £1100rrp plus vat from JCB. From Dana spicer they are about £550 rrp plus vat or I can do aftermarket at I think £365 plus vat

I'm sure JCB over price all Dana axle parts.
If you send me the part number or serial number I'll tell you what you could pay.
