Bull shed/housing??

Open sided, plenty of ventilation, leave the ridge open, perhaps gaps between sheets.
I wasn’t looking to build a shed, but he was discussing what he wanted in a cattle shed to reduce problems.
So he offered only the basics then, I'd hoped he had something innovative to add, to justify moaning to you about cattle not having enough ventilation.

But it sounds like he was just being text book.

How many bulls to go in that shed? That concrete looks too smooth. No grip for cows to get up.

3 bull pens on the left and 6 calving pens on the right. The pens are the same so I have 9 pens which could all be bull pens.
The feed/storage passage was power floated with the pan twice. The pens once and then a mesh roller was used to add grip. I hope the pens will be fine or they will get grooved.

What’s the dimensions of the individual pens?? Looks tidy shed!![emoji108]

It’s 60 x 40 with all the pens 20x10. Works for me. It’s basically 3 times the size of what was there with the same internal layout that was refined over 40 years calving pedigrees and getting calves a drink etc. Will post the section gate later. Hope I don’t need it though.
Every time we lost a cow or calf we looked at our setup and resolved any issues that may have contributed.

@Davy_g How's the shed working out now?
A bit late in my reply Richy, sorry. Delighted with it. Added a yard with feed area outside for the bulls - also a sand pen (well 2) for the bulls to exercise or lye out - surrounded by crash barrier.
I always knew the internal shed lay out was going to work as its tried and tested for us. Should have had more man escapes / access in every gate. I miss them - even in gates that bar easily.
