The colour is just dye? Its not a guarantee of quality!?

yeah, thats what i thought ?
same spec grease from different manufacturers can be different colours.
just like oil, it is the specs that are important, not the colour.
having said that, i do prefer red or blue grease over grey or black, as its easier to see when the fresh grease comes through

guess iam lucky i dont think off hand ive a single implement with more than 10 grease points thats why ive no reason for a battery powered gun.
if you had 50/100 grease points on a machine then i maybes get it.
Fencing contractor has one of them Red types mentioned above & swears by it.

We used Morris grease for years, then went onto Speedygrease.
Now we’ve gone back to Morris lube shuttle with adaptors in the Speedygrease guns. Better value for money in our opinion.

We also have a couple of special greases for certain applications where the manufacturer recommends it.

Are the Morris lube shuttles very cheap? Have you seen the Special offers for grease on our website: https://www.speedygrease.com/collections/special-offers

It’s not so much grease or guns. It’s more the frequency and the coupler. G couplers are just one which locks on and means greasing is a much cleaner task. Quick rub with a rag before and after means everything stays much cleaner And all the grease goes where it’s neededView attachment 917240
Agreed, the G couplers are great especially paired with a Speedy Grease Gun. Cleanest and quickest way to grease

Can’t remember the prices off hand but we brought them 150 at a time from TD Agri, collected as postage was a killer. The lube shuttle connection is a lot easier to use and slightly cheaper at the time.

They’re too big for a lot of nipples I find, have tried all the quick couplers but not found one I like. The best are the originals that come on the Speedygrease guns themselves.

Crickey ... I'm really frightened now.
All this talk of guns and different colours not to mention nipples.

I have a speedy grease gun and it’s grand until you change the cartridge and have to pump forever to get more grease to come through then it works for a few nipples then nothing again until you constantly pump it

Are you using the speedy grease cartridges? It sounds like the cartridges aren't forming a proper vacuum, if the cartridges you're using don't have a lip around the end this may be what's causing the issue. If you are using the speedy grease cartridges you may need a new seal which we would be happy to send out

There's a lot of hype around grease
My thoughts are even if its poor quality grease if its used often enough its good enough.
We use red ep2 and the premadonnas have moved onto ep3 blue
Most bearings want little and often.

In general it's best to follow the manufacturer's recommendations.
A good Lithium Grease GL EP is great for most bearings etc. used in agricultural applications.
When there are more pivots/bushes etc. involved such as with an excavator or hedgecutter a stickier (GL 2/AAPB ) grease would be recommended as it has a polymeric additive added to make it stickier .
When you need to have strong resistance to temperature, heavy loads and mechanical stress a multifunction complex (grey) grease would be the recommendation
If you're greasing something which is in regular contact with water or high humidity a specialist grease (usually a lithium/calcium anhydrous soap based grease) is best
Sometimes it's essential not to pollute (earth moving, agriculture and automotive fields) in this case you can get eco-friendly greases

The reason we use JCB blue is that it doesn't wash out as compared to regular greases. Especially important for the headstock on the telehandler imo.
