Hi all, long time reader of the farming forum, but never joined up, figured maybe i could contribute some of my knowledge, and gain some valuble advise on some of my own problems when they arrise. I farm my a small acreage in west devon, and work as self employed agricultural labourer in the dairy, sheep, beef and arable sectors respectivily. Im a jack of all trades, If i can turn my hand to it, I'll have a go.

We can always use more ideas/solutions, :) just understand if u meet anybody that is opinionated on here, it is because farming has its own share of problems that when u find a good solution it will be pretty hard for someone to change your mind.

Hi, I've been lurking for a while, but thought it's time I joined up. Reading takes me long enough, never mind writing. We farm a wet hillside in Lancashire with milk cows and sheep, Lonks and various crosses.
Welcome! yes there are a lot of long winded posts, but there are also a lot of posts that are short and very much worth reading(easy to read). the main thing is having interest in what your reading.

Hi All,
I currently work with the Syngenta digital agronomy team, we're looking at various digital tool that could be used to help farmers and agronomist and we wont your opinion on some ideas, one current one is a PGR alert tool.
Just wondering if people wouldn't mind filling out a quick questionnaire to get back some information about a desire for a PGR alerting tool. Aimed to recommend when to apply PGR to your spray schedule when lodging risks are higher. The link is below:

Many Thanks,

William Hunt

Hi, I've been a long time visitor to the site and find it great for learning new things and seeing how others operate. I've also received help from other members with queries. I farm sheep on upland on the west coast of Ireland and work off farm as well. I hope to engage a bit more in discussions and maybe help others too.

Welcome to the forum. You join plenty of others in looking for shooting permission. It'd help a bit if you say where you are based (or, even better, add your location to you profile so it shows in all your posts) and offer to help on farm in return.

@holwellcourtfarm my days of being able to help on the farm other than a bit of carpentry/fence repair or may be driving a tractor but the old school stuff are long gone , the new tractors scare the bejesus out of me when i looked in one .
That was why i am looking for shoot permission i can still do a good rat clearing or pigeon clearing or rabbits anything that needs to be gone basically .
I have now put location in sorry i missed that when signing up thank you for the advice
