Jump Start Booster Pack

I don't know. It wouldn't be the first time someone complained about something but turned out they weren't using it properly.
everyone I know who's got one raves about it.
hence my suggestion you aren't using it correctly

Only success with it has been on the old IH 434 scraper tractor which only has 3 cylinders. Won’t look at the 6 cylinder tractors. At least that proves that I have found the on switch and can work out which is positive and which is neutral 🤣🤣

It is here, only this week it wouldn’t look at my JD6506 which is on the straw chopper. The thing that isn’t right is the useless novo 150. Complete waste of money.

If you don’t want it, I’ll happily have it. Got a couple here and very pleased with them. Yesterday it started my MF6490 from cold having just changed fuel filters and battery pretty drained from running air compressor. Wouldn’t be without it.

Obviously I have purchased the 16:59 Friday version 🤦

I wouldn't rate the Sealey ones above either...In little over a year from new (not used much but kept charged) both internal batteries need replaced. Dry as a bone. The 24v bit gives 24v output but doesn't produce any amps and is therefore useless. The 12v side works ok but doesn't give much cranking time. OK if the vehicle to be started is easy to start but no use for continued cranking. When you see what's inside these jump packs and for the price of them(two 22Ah golf caddy batteries), a 642 or 663 1000Ah spare battery and set of jump leads is a much better purchase.

For a one-off, that’s true - but the question implies it will be needed regularly.

Depends how many vehicles I guess but definitely agree, fix the problem first.

Got a SIP pro boost 6200 here. Expensive but has been worth its weight in gold several times especially in remote locations.

Even around the yard it's just so much handier to have. Once you have one you don't want to be without it.

@An Gof yours sounds faulty, I use mine on an old generator that has a Perkins 6354 6 pot on it , it doesn’t have its own battery as it kept getting nicked and the noco will start it all year round , 30 seconds heat and about 10-15 cranking, I do only get about 3 starts from a charge though, so I do charge after each use. You have to put it into manual mode if the battery voltage is really low on some vehicles.

Yes I have the hilta version. It’s cheap but ok will happily start engines with low batteries. Mine is 3 years old and gets abused

What I cant understand is the people on here who are not breakdown mechanics who use these booster packs daily, I think money invested in starters / batteries / maintenance would be well spent. That type of carry on with booster packs reminds me of an old bachelor farmer that used to live opposite me he had a Lada Riva car a 35 four cylinder, 2 tvo's and a 996 davybroon and ONE battery between them!!! Just took it to what ever he needed to use and connected it up and the only vehicle that was able to charge it was the Lada. All main movers here are fitted with an Anderson socket just in case as well as the jeep, if something doesn't start once I doubt myself if it doesn't start twice it gets sorted, life is too short for dicking about with booster packs unless it is part of your job.

These people still exist!!!

The small booster packs are ok if there is life in your battery still but if totally dead they won’t start modern stuff which need a lot of power to get computers going and pre heat etc before starting.

After all the rave reviews for the Novo 150 on here I bought one. I think it’s bl**dy rubbish 👎👎 and a complete waste of money. Might start a car but as useful as a chocolate fireguard for a 6 cylinder tractor. Save your money for a good set of jump leads.

i thought mine was absolute sh1te too. Wouldn't start an 885, 6920 or a 956. Should have sent it back but the pikeys nicked it........ stupidly I have bought another one on this latest deal off Amazon...... I'll report back.
