You're posting a lot of stuff trying to run down the UK, still, even post-Brexit; does it still hurt that much?

Changing the subject entirely... your fellow Macron is polling far lower in France than Boris and Co. are over here; so how are things in France? I suppose that, after all, it's part of EUtopia so everything must be nigh on perfect. Tell us about the sweeping successes, economic and social, over there in your part of Europe, won't you? There must be so much for us poor insular types to learn. :)
Doesn't hurt me, but you want everyone to ignore the lies and damage.
See abovešŸ‘

I take this is tongue in cheek or you really believe that the BOE is an island without political interference.
The BOE is set goals by politicians after consultations as to inflation targets and borrowing. There is nothing worse than deflation so they avoid that at all costs, basically by both increasing the money supply and by lowering interest rates. Inflation has been very very low in recent years, if not decades, but you can bet your life that if it threatened to go over targets then the BOE would decrease money supply and increase interest costs to compensate. The last Governor, Mr Carney, was outstanding at doing this and only a hint from him that interest rates would have to rise, steadied the markets and avoided him having to take much action at all. He was the best of skilled Governors, there is no doubt about that. He spoke and people listened.

Can I ask what this has to do with the UK becoming bankrupt or did you mean to post it in another thread?
This is a hell of a lot of the trade that used to go over the uk land bridge. That's more jobs and services being lost.

25% of a Macclesfield cheese makers business has just been lost as the uk government didn't ask for direct sales (uk to the EU) to be included in the trade deal. FFS!
Think about that!
The uk government did not ask for direct sales to be included!!!!

You might start to wonder what else hasn't been asked for.
Oh, and by the way, EU to uk direct sales were included! Why? Because the EU asked for them.
It doesn't matter how you voted , you can't be happy about that !

What difference does that make though?
The insinuation of the meme posted by the member of the house from peasantville, was that the Republicans party is the party of robber Barronā€™s and stupid bigot poor people, too thick to realize they are being taken advantage of. The reality is if your digging coal or running a drilling rig in America as an employee your making 6 figures and the leaders of those companies are seeing their fortunes being eroded. Meanwhile Zuckerburg, Bezos and co continue to pump money into the globalist party so they can get Chinese kids to do their work and increas their fortunes exponentially.

the only top 5ā€™r not a raging democrat is musk. Who built a company around hard work and rewards every employee down to the janitorial staff with share options.

Sorry but I'm not sure any of the names you mentioned would concern me a jot and certainly are not weathervanes for anything that would affect the way I might vote. Musk? Come off it, the bloke is 1 part substance and 9 parts myth.

Globalism is the new field of opportunity. In case you didn't notice, oil and coal are yesterday's news and becoming ever less popular- it's no surprise that the owners of such enterprises are seeing their fortunes eroded; just as the men who used to manufacture horseshoes experienced the same. Yes, companies are making huge profits out of Chinese (and fudge loads of other countries') citizens, but those Chinese citizens are growing wealthier and wealthier with every passing day to the point that many of them are approaching Western levels of consumerism if they are not there already. There is money to be made selling them things just as there are paying them to assemble or design things.

If you need any more evidence that Big oil is dying then check out the Gulf states who are scrabbling around to get into nuclear power, tourism or other industries to diversify their economies because they have realised the game is up.

It's important that the economies around the world level up, tech up and wise up because it won't be many decades before population growth stabilises, slows and then begins to decline. It's effectively happening in many countries already.

And lastly, you can have a 6 figure salary and still be ridiculously thick or poor.

you missed the entire construct of the argument. Itā€™s not about oil or coal. Coal was the example as everyone always brings up the Koch brothers as the evil rich coal Barronā€™s sending kids down the mines. The reality is the Koch brothers brought hundreds of thousands of people in the Appalacians out of poverty. Only for Obama to stick them all on opioids so they were to dazed to see what was happening.

back to being comfortably numb again for the next 4 years, wonā€™t be long before the next global wonder pain killer is rolled out. Look at all these happy little Chinese fellas steadily growing their wealth. Aye right.

Dido Harding is paying 900 Deloitte consultants a 1000 pounds a day each! Now do you understand why those on universal credit can't have 20 quid a week extra?!

View attachment 935077

It's worse than that. The figure that the press were quoting is Ā£7000 per day for senior consultants and Ā£2,400 for new graduates.
