Todays edition of More or Less.

At 24 minutes to the end of programme Penny Mordaunt and Michael Gove claims over fishing qouta examined. Mordaunts reply on Question Time last Thursday and Gove to the Scotsman Paper.

Both claims bebunked as factually incorrect. Now this leads to the question are these two senior Conservative Politicians and leading Leave advocate genuinely being provided with incorrect information by their staff, which is worrying, are they checking the data, particularly when it is pulled apart by More or Less and will the issue an apology and correction - or are they just lieing.

Gove - well he has history and personally even if I read hi lips I do not believe what he said. Mordaunt - thought better of her as just a deluded fool, maybe she is slippery too.

French customs officer on euronews saying that at present they are taking a relaxed attitude to UK export customs declarations because they don't want to cause even bigger delays but after a few months they will apply the rules thoroughly.
It's going to get much worse.

Customs in Dublin, green lighting 90% of trucks coming in. 10% are spot checked, and even at that, they are out the gate in a couple of hours.
This is 3 month grace period to allow The Greatest Most Advanced economy in the world, time to get its shieet together!

You think it's all over. It won't be.
It'll be alright on the night, prospering mightily , all rubbish. Governments should be held to account.
I'm sorry you don't like the facts, thought you were above the fake news rubbish.

Hmm, don’t recall making any of those comments actually 🤷 You must have overlooked that I actually voted “remain” but the other side won - marginal though that was. I’ll say it again, what or who is the EU? It’s not all the men and women on the streets of the member countries; just the very few who are steering Europe towards a one state nation. Personally I don’t think that’s a great idea and maybe this is where we disagree. This is an unprecedented move; no one has ever left before and who knows UK may not be the last

I didn't mean you had made the comments , the first is Borises attitude , and you know he repeats the second.
Are you satisfied with how your government have lied about what they achieved in the deal, and Boris on tv blaming fish exporters for the situation and then saying you'll have all the fish back in 5 years? ( It's 25% ,).

H refer back to post #281 and listen to the More or Less programme, last 5 minutes.

Checking the facts and finding Mordaunt and Gove both said factually incorrect statements. They now can come forward and correct those statements or defend their statements. Maybe apologise.

They can come forward and explain why they said the wrong things. Were they incorrectly informed by their officials - if so that is worrying as that bodes badly for government. If correctly informed then they chose to say things that were wrong - which is bad for our governance.

That is holding the UK government to account. By supporting the BBC and programmes like More or Less.

typical not answering the question
how are you going to hold the UK government to account ?
you were the one that said they should be so how are you going to go about it ?
The only way I can. By putting in front of you the lies and deceipts. The fact that you are happy to acquiesce and do nothing speaks volumes.

H - you are being purposefully obtuse. Which is fine. TFF is just a bit of fun.

The answer is yes. These programmes like More or less - well I may now write to my MP referrring him to the programme - may even copy it to Mr Gove personally and certainly the Conservative Party head office. And the more that do that the more call out the scallywags.

That is holding a government to account in a free democracy. Hey ho
