Yeah, had to buy a new DVD player to watch Breaking Bad box set borrowed from friends.

Do you think I can knock it off the license fee.

Trying to think what I really watch on the BBC,a bit of BBC breakfast in the morning in the back ground and that’s about it.

Even watch ITN news now as the leftie bias of the Biased Broadcasting Company stinks.

And don’t get me on to Packham, badgers and farting cows.:banghead:

Well, I’m not sure what the OP’s opinion of farmers was before they started this thread but I very much doubt this has improved it.
So are you saying we have all got to be “nice” to the BBC , rather than showing what we “really” think of the BBC.
That’s the trouble with society now , are we all meant to be “a weak nice society, not allowed to question TV folk”, who put themselves on their own self opinionated ego trip to justify their extortionate salaries?

Not really, I know nowt about the bbc but at a guess, being tasked with finding some dirty vehicles ain’t one of the BBC’s top salary jobs, more likely a job for young un who has worked out that by the nature of our jobs some of us don’t have the cleanest of vehicles and has come on here to make a reasonable offer .

They could well be a relatively normal person with a fairly neutral opinion of farmers, I doubt that is still the case if they have been back to read the replies if they had a dislike of farmers before this thread will have reinforced that opinion, if their opinion was neutral, next time they speak to someone with a dislike of farmers they’ll probably be in complete agreement.

If you have a problem with the bbc why not start another thread, there are sure to be plenty of contributors. Whoever started this thread is highly unlikely to be able to change anything but has caught both barrels of what is wrong with the bbc and it’s almost certainly not their fault and beyond their pay grade to do anything about it.
I can’t see any positives compared out of this, ok , someone somewhere will get their car cleaned, quite possibly not a farmer but all the negative comments will be to no avail and yet another of the population will have a negative view of farmers.
As an industry we really are crap at PR indeed on social media many of the comments I read, not just on here, this is one of the better places make me cringe.
And I ain’t no slick talking type, but someone the comments I see on social media really do the industry no favours.................even if I agree with the general point being made.

So when someone representing an institution that has lambasted what we do, who we are and how we live with increasing disdain and ferocity each time, comes asking for us to participate in a childish, second rate entertainment program where we will no doubt be the butt of snide remarks and un-sympathetic editing. We should all rush to be as helpful as possible?
I think if they had come on here asking for people to participate in something which promoted or was a true representation of our way of life or industry they would have been more amicably received.

It’s got everything to do with the fact that I (have to) pay a license fee however the content isn’t worth watching so it costs me on top to watch something worth watching.

And the galling thing is I’m contributing by law to that twit packhams wages......

Why do you have to pay the licence?
We don't.
No telly for the last 30+ years. Don't think I've missed that much.

Do you think the TV license is good value?

Do you enjoy watching Chris Packham cuddling badgers while farms are being devastated due to TB spread by them?

I don’t but the that’s not the issue!

You complained that you have to buy a DVD player to watch breaking bad which was broadcast on Netflix. Then for some reason it was the bbc fault

Nope,it’s not the BBC’s fault but if there was something decent on to watch I’d not have to shell out on something else.

Some of us remember when there were only three channels and the output was far better than these days.

Stuff like this.

What a load of crap. You wanted to watch breaking bad so you had to buy a DVD player to do that . You don’t have to watch tv there’s loads of other things you can do rather than watch tv . A lot of them you have to pay for!
if you don’t like what’s on tv don’t watch and pay for your license.

looking back with rose tinted glasses on tv wasn’t that great in the passed . Few decent programs.

I agree there's no need to watch it or pay for it. However If I choose not to watch netflix or amazon prime, they don't send me a letter every second week threatening to send enforcement officers and quoting the amount I will be fined unless I pay their fee.

When is the BBC going to respond to all those who complained about the biased reporting on "Meat: A threat to our planet" ?

A complaint that was found for, however all the BBC has done is disappear into a bunker.........
