Valtra v John Deere

There probably isn’t much wrong with any of them really. Lot of it is luck sometimes. And a good percentage of breakages I always think have a fair bit to do with how it’s treated. A low houred 6630 would be fair money I bet. If you can find one. I bet you won’t have lost much on your current one.
Yeah a 6630 with low hours would be fair money, considering Claas as well, good value for money second hand and good back up locally.

I test drove today...the N134 and a T154
What I noticed (in my opinion of course)
Was that inside the cab it was noisier than my current tractor.
The brakes were as soft as clarts
But the most concerning thing was the gear change from C to D was horrific, it just died and lost all forward momentum till I’m kicked in again.
Everything ejse was good though.
Had you it in manual or auto, I always drive in manual which is not a problem , the versu is very easy to change gears , they do take a bit of getting use to, but after a day on it , there no problem with gear changes. They do have a lower brake pedal compared to most other tractors , again , I’ve never had an issue with brakes or the lack of brakes. .

Perhaps not then?
Are the new JD's worse that the 00/10/20/30 series for visibility with the loader?
I've hundreds of hours of bale loading on those models and never had a problem. The IVT models were a game changer for that job. I don't know what they'd be like in a tight yard though.
A shame the sloping hood 120m isn't big enough.

Was it agri knives who said brakes should put you through window and if they don't they need bleeding and c to d shouldn't be that bad maybe needs setting up were they new tractors?
Don't know if Agri knives said about the brakes, but find it best to ignore what Jimmy writes 😆

If the pedal was soft, the brakes do need bled properly with a trailer pipe connected. It's a simple easy thing to do and results in a very solid pedal. The dealer has crapped on their doorstep if they sent out a tractor not set up correct.

Cabin noise in the 4 cylinder valtra is definitely higher than Deere. When it's working hard, the sound is also a bit like a hoard of hammer wielding Viking warriors beating the shyte out of the engine 😳 it's not loud (the radio volume doesn't need increased from the level at engine idle), but the change in engine sound is very noticeable.

The range shift from C to D is a full declutch gearshift. Properly calibrated, it is very slick, and the engine speed matching makes it smoother than a consummate gearshifting professional boy racer. Set wrong, and the valtra is worse than the Ford Rubik cube column shift 😱
