Where’s Joyce been of late? She is fab, I love her enthusiasm for it all.
And hats off to anyone who does it, because your fate hangs with the editor of the show . All your good bits , funny moments could end up on the cutting room floor, and you could come across as a right grumpy git!
I am sure the editors decide what "character" each couple is going to play, then edit accordingly, all to make good compulsive viewing, that is fine if you are the couple they want to portray in a a good light, not so good, if they want to show you as the opposite!

Surprised he never mentioned replacing the 9 cows with 30 sheep, who would be better suited to the land and more saleable.
or just les someone else graze there cows on it / on tack type thing
lacked handling system. Always looked too dangerous to me when they are chasing the stock around. This is the issue with having a small amount of stock you still need a decent system in place its just not viable.

i agree , you need (almost) the same amount of stuff for 10 as you do 40 or fifty , and it becomes a cost per head / economy of scale type thing .

at first i felt for them a bit trying to put a bale out in the mud with that old 135. then i thought these are the people who shouldn't really have cattle, and im glad they came to their senses for their own wellbeing

I was worried for Joyce, those f'ing antis and their agenda really got to her. She appears to have bounced back on social media like Instagram now. I didn't take kindly to seeing her so down and despite all she does for promoting agriculture

Has the guy with vet partner who has gone farming in a big way bitten off more than he can chew?
I hope there is an episode which shows them having a storming lamb trade.
I felt for the crofter last night, he had no reason to feel like he had failed. He seemed a top bloke to me who just wanted a few cows but was swimming against the tide trying to keep cattle in such a harsh place. Fair play to them all for letting the camera's in.

Bit of a learning curve with the huge expansion.... But good luck to them.

Still don't like his cows!!! BOING!!!
I have some store cattle from that farm that came in early January, ( I bought from the farm that bought off them last spring) Blooming good cattle doing well, but 3 of them are complete nutters!!!!

She became a target for the vegan lot

The trouble is the extreme/more vocal vegans will not enter into a proper debate.

Been watching a few clips on you tube and while the farmers or meat eaters try to be reasonable- "we look after our animals well" "shearing is vital for welfare reasons" etc. the vegans just repeat things like "you rape cows" you murder calves" "I've seen sheep die when sheared"

No discussion, just abuse.

I got targeted a couple years ago. Zero star reviews, personal attacks/abuse, no recourse through Facebook to counter fake reviews.

It’s bloody depressing and makes you wonder about human nature / intelligence!

But I kept it calm, presented true facts did not get involved in mud slinging and they got bored.

Lambing starts next week, the usual suspects will kick if and I’ll have to take a few deep breaths I’m sure!
