Project Zetros

Had to lift the body on inside the shed because the wind got up. It was a bit tetchy being so near to the Zetros cab.
They make a beautiful pair.

You can see now what takes so long.

Blind spot mirror stalk made, mudguard brackets adapted, access ladder and brackets made, all mounting points fabricated, windows in front of body made (not too happy with those, at least you can’t really see them!!) signs to mount, various bits repaired pre powder coat, cab light bar needed adapting and remounting, body fully stripped down( only partly rebuilt yet!!), dent pulled out of cab side panel, don’t look too hard at that!, drawbar made and installed (trailer drawbar done too, albeit by someone else).....the list is endless.

Not to mention running around fetching, delivering, measuring and endless hours head scratching.

Sure you won't need rookie bars! But when I learnt to drive a bull nosed Peterbilt in America we had stalks like you have on front bumper on both sides to make it easier to judge where front bumper is in tight areas.

I made the stalk for that then thought to put the mirror on top because there is a huge blind spot there. When the two wheeled organ donors pull alongside I now have half a chance of spotting them.

Impressive... Nice to see it coming together.

Proper Job... Plenty of thought coming to Fruition.

As Henry Ford said... "Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason so few engage in it."
Some of us do it too often also.

Wish I didn't think as much. I actually admire people that don't think of consequences or what "might" go wrong and just get on.

The Zetros looks (strangely ) far more capable and suitable than the Xerion.

Yes, I think you’re probably right there.

As much as I kind of liked the Xerion the only really good thing about it was the huge tyres.

Conversely, that’s what is worrying me about the Zetros, because they are obviously nowhere near as big, but I still have the Big A for tender ground.
Plus, the Zetros is nearly 7 tonnes lighter than the Xerion!

Thats sort of what I was thinking, plus you don't have the cab overhanging the front axle so the weight should be shared between the axles better plus a less "noddy" ride for the driver.
