How much was that if you dont mind me asking, and where from?
Where did you get it from? since Hikvision went professional user only i struggle sometimes to get their stuff
I was the same, trade account only etc just to see the price. Bought this off Ebay, cctv experts is the seller £344.99 inc vat ncluding the mounting bracket.
how far does it see? 80m? does it work with 4g?
Not 4g its an IP camera so needs to connect to a router/network by an ethernet cable. Guess it would see far enough, depends on what you want to see though, we are only viewing about 30m and can read cow tag at that.

What do you need to control / run it?
It needs to be powered so 240v near by, and it needs to be plugged in to the router in your house or office etc. This can be a long cable if its close by or by using a wireless link tothe building its in which works like an invisible wire. Then a free app on your phone or pad or on your pc. Little bit more techy fiddling if you want to watch over internet in another house, country, or in tractor say

What sort of distance is that for reading the tags?

This is a screen shot off my phone taken at about 80ft, dads Ipad is a bit clearer I'd say.
Not that fussed on reading tags really, just wanted a clear picture, and to see if theres one calving. That ones supposed to be good in the dark, although I havent tried it yet.

I installed cameras myself a few years ago now as I was worried about my dad who is in his 70s out looking cows late at night. Started with cheap Foscam 1.3mp 3x zoom and to be fair it was/still is good for the money spent. It got moved to a smaller shed and I bought a Foscam 2mp 4x zoom which is a good clear camera to put in our main cow shed. So they all have moved "down a shed" again with this new one in the biggest shed. The Hikvision is what most of the cctv installer guys use and so far its good.
I guess its the same old story, how much do you want to spend?

But i must say after a week now i understand why people like the telehandler, so this time i am glad she read on TFF :)
