And Herefords putting on a good show n all .
To be fair, the

Wasn’t BPS already for the farmer/ lamdowner?
[/QUOTE]
yes it was , but the marketing system and shipping / storage across europe , meant it ended up in larrys / tesco pockets , Larry bought loads of eastern euro beef when they had the drought in 2019 and stored it offshore , then pumped it in during first lockdown last year by all account's , i wouldnt be surprised if some ended up with the union flag on (packed in uk) either .The big boys across all buying sectors have priced the bsp into what they pay ,they all know our cop and why do you think its a legal requirement to fill the census every year .

Unless anything hits the fan and things go pear shape i would certainly say the early breeding sales will all be north of £160 head and likely nearer £200 head than £160!
I’ve got a load of in lambers going to Bentham tomorrow. Old ewes, I’ll try and hit the iron while it’s hot! With corn the way it is and if it’s a wet lambing time the extra cost of straw lambing 65 less sounds like a plan too me! (As long as they meet the reserves of course...) 😉

What if they don’t meet reserve? Nothing can come back from marts here 🪳(can you see the emoji?)

If anything I'm trying too sell doesn't meet its reserve it comes home again. I'm not keeping stock all year too give it away on a bad trade day. but I do have plenty of isolated fields that they can come back too. Especially breeding stock as I always have a back up plan. They can lamb and go with lambs at foot or If all else fails they can just lamb and run as normal until weaning then split and sell.
