All things Dairy

I know when I was at college a pallet of genus branded post dip chemicals were wrong and burnt all the cows teats (typically happened on my week to milk) at first I got accused of mixing the pre and post dip up which apparently had a similar affect if they're mixed together (which I didnt know!) But once we opened the rest of the cans and realised they were all the same I was let off the hook, they were not fun to milk for the rest of the week 😬

Deosan super excel post (iodine)
Biolac prepost foam (orange liquid)
Then detergents are all clear/ yellowish colour.
Be even worse time to get it on when teat canal is open after milking.

No I don't think I have yet. I didn't have many this year and I know I sold a couple but I have quite a few to calve next year

They are well grown animals but I suspect the J x BF will be slow to mature and probably won't excel ad heifers
I think you wouldnt be far wrong there, but the number that will still be there in the years to come will hopefully more than pay for the little bit less milk in the first lactation. Having said that, the joseph heifers that have calved so far seem to be flying on so you never know! Will certainly be interesting to see what happens when crossed with jerseys
