Are they dropping the rocks only in areas from which fishing with nets has been banned?
Not sure that's relevant. No one should be dumping anything in the sea, no matter what. Ships sometimes sink, containers and cargo sometimes lost, but deliberate dumping even rocks is absolutely environmentally not on! NB I'm mot sure granite rocks would do any harm, but these idiots are not helping their cause one bit. However they get TV time, which they don't deserve with these acts

Others will get ideas from this, and start planting hard obstacles silage crops!
this was really the point of putting up the post , where does this end ?
or is giving the go ahead for the beginning ?
where ,wether or how they should be fishing is not the issue , its not for them to enforce it , will they be prepared to go down for manslaughter if there is an accident ?

Where, whether or how they should be fishing is the issue here. It needs enforcing to stop overfishing.

No fish zones increase fish stocks. But if they are fished out it stops being a no fish zone so it stops working. It's that simple.

And it doesn't matter who enforces it so long as they stop fishing there.

If they keep out of the no fish zones like they're supposed to then there's no risk to anyone's safety from these obstacles.

Anyone who farms on an urban fringe will already have experienced this. We have some field adjacent to a large village and have had short lengths of rebar hammered into the ground in a barley crop. Probably in retaliation for repairing the playing field fence to stop the locals from taking a shortcut across two fields.

Just watched bbc news greenpeace dropping boulders in the English channel to wreck fishing gear - looks really dangerous to me .
Why are these people above the law ? so confident about it ?
Whats next angle iron in the maize rows ?

is it illegal to drop a rock in the sea ?

I admire the fact they are prepared to get off their ass and do something about what they believe is a bad situation
