sedalcol is looking to increase production so could take some of the roquet tonnageYes, but like Tesla said, not a huge one. Both bio ethanol plants running on 100% wheat at full capacity would consume 1.9 MMT of UK wheat but we have lost Roquette recently (450kMT) and a lot of livestock so the demand will be less than that.
the area of planted is still increasing
but the flooded out areas could weigh down on yield
in my experience well established crops can withstand a lot of wet in winter if it dries up early enough
although two wet years the second year does not recover as well especially wheat after bareland fallow
even if we get a 8.5 tonne per ha average the surplas will be out of the south of england which is set up for exports
the midland north will not have alot of spare wheat
with stocks so low an early harvest will see some 2021 grain used in july
all the talk is about stewardship and not cropping some land
if this is the case 1.5 million ha will be a normal wheat area and
14 million tonnes the most we will harvest and 12.5 the average
the land taken out should be the lower yielding land but some agents will not know which fields are the low yielding ones
