EU vaccine role out.

So now France are considering joining Italy in banning exports of AZ vaccine. How childish can they get?
They kicked off when they couldn't get it and threatened all sorts of retribution, dismissed it as useless, persuaded the population not to use it, have stockpiles of the stuff doing nothing, and now they might refuse to send it to Countries who desperately want it.
This is serious not some game where if we can't have it neither can you.

Since January 30th more than 8 million vaccines were shipped from the EU to Britain, a third EU source told Reuters.

Most people are unaffected by the virus, those at risk could lose weight if they chose. Nope, I don’t see a bit of political point scoring over some vaccine as serious
Aye you're right, the last 12 months have been wasted on Covid when we could have been twining about Brexit

Thanks for the link. Just had a read. Scrolled down to the comments -- as you do. And this was the first comment - been posted 4 minutes. Probably says a lot for the view of EU27 from GB. or should I say EU2 - Gerry and Froggy. Cyprios seem to think helpful to be chummy with UK. But at least they are honest - they want the £sterling.

Simply put ... No country or company outside of the EU can EVER trust any legal contract signed with any company producing vaccines inside the EU.

It is now obvious to the entire global community of Nations that the EU acts arbitrarily, solely on its own behalf and it does not accept legal contracts ... by extension, Treaties (whether trade, financial reciprocation or military alliances ) signed with the EU of 27 countries are meaningless !!!

The EU (& the 27 countries comprising it) is an untrustworthy trading partner and ally and must be viewed and treated as such.

The EU is a danger to World order and is now on the same level as Communist China and Russia as the Rule of Law does not apply unless it suits the unelected EC totalitarian technocrats, bureaucrats and failed politicians that infest its corridors !!!

You do know that more people in France have had 2 jabs than the UK ? So fully vaccinated!

I’m not sure that is the case any longer, the number of 2nd doses being administered now is huge.
Also had my text today for my second jab, it will be 8 1/2 weeks from the first. Numbers being vaccinated still seems to be gathering pace. They are doing a phenomenal job and we are starting to see some real progress towards normality. Clinics starting to reopen, non urgent surgeries restarting as critical care beds become more available. Kids back at school Monday, junior and club sports restarting beginning of April.
We can finally start to have some real optimism, I’ve booked tickets with friends to see Pakistan and India play England at Trent Bridge in July/August, can’t wait,

Apologies, I’ve looked up the stats and France is about 700,000 ahead if you only take twice vaccinated people into account.
U.K. daily 2nd doses have only just crept above Frances this week at just over 65,000 but still administering 300,000 first doses per day against Frances 100,000.
Running total U.K. 21 million France 3.2 million.
I do think we have chosen the right strategy.

The article is full of inconsistency and contradictory statements, awful standard of reporting. Stupid egos and political posturing are causing all the problems. I’m sorry to say the worst ones are on the EU side, the arrogance toward the rest of the world is staggering. One thing the commenter was right about though, trust is gone, no point looking back now.
