Beef / Lamb & Pig Price Tracker

Do they ever get any really poor/dairy bred thin suckler outfits at the proper friday breeding sales? If they do,what sort of prices?
I haven’t seen much in the way of that sort of thing. At the sale in December there was some first cross dairy with Angus calves making £1800 plus looked very dear to me. That’s the only ones I’ve seen.

If you don't buy you will have nothing to sell and you can ganutree you won't make nothing then
Not sure on that one in this instance. He will have the produce too sell which is probably worth more to someone else than it is poured into expensive store cattle? Assuming that the crops will be sown again he will have product too sell next back end again, or feed too cattle should the plan change.

But for the likes of me, you’re right. I only sell livestock so it has too come from somewhere. Although I’m seriously considering selling a ruck of ewes and lambs if they continue around that £80/life. I’ll bide my time with the money and when the wheel comes off again, nail in while other people are sucking their fingers and crying. It’s happened plenty of times before!

“Money and confidence always run out before cattle”. A Tommy Ball pearl of wisdom
Very true, Grandads version is “eh lad, th’ money will run out afort material does” although it didn’t with thevstore lambs this time! If I’d followed his advice I wouldn’t have bought 500! Give him his due, he has openly said it’s a good job I just got on with it!
