EU vaccine role out.

Since January 30 more than 8 million vaccines were shipped from the EU to Britain, a third EU source told Reuters.

Britain has so far prevented the export of AstraZeneca vaccines to the EU, using a UK-first clause in its supply contract with the Anglo-Swedish firm
"Using a UK first clause" and why wouldn't you? no point in sending them to the EU where the leaders have talked people out of using them.

The article is full of inconsistency and contradictory statements, awful standard of reporting. Stupid egos and political posturing are causing all the problems. I’m sorry to say the worst ones are on the EU side, the arrogance toward the rest of the world is staggering. One thing the commenter was right about though, trust is gone, no point looking back now.
Yes it is dreadful reporting. Tory mouthpiece, cheerleader for Brexit.
If the news was reported factually, we wouldn't be where we are.
If you read the EU press you'd see things differently.
Being from the UK and reading a range of UK and EU press, I sometimes wonder if we're on the same planet!
The problem with social media is it reaffirms and polarises ones opinions, it takes effort to try and see the other side. A pointless effort most of the time. You just get shouted down by the usual suspects.

It does seem a bit of a joke that the EU is busy authorising 150 shipments of AZ vaccine to 29 none EU counties including the UK. When AZ then turn round and tell them, they can only supply 50% of what was ordered. This despite UK having it's own AZ manufacturing facility, why does it need still more from the EU?

U.K. vaccine program is becoming its “claim to fame”

Most people are unaffected by the virus, those at risk could lose weight if they chose. Nope, I don’t see a bit of political point scoring over some vaccine as serious
Havent you said several times you dont ho out anywhere so you don't have to get close to anyone because you dont want yo catch it ?

I will put my hands up to something of a change of heart. Czech Republic controlled the first wave incredibly well with hardly any cases. Hence, second wave has been huge there. During these last weeks, nearly every member of mrs Czechs family have had it. They test a lot there (Ive had no test at all, FIL has had at least 30!), she has an uncle close to 70, short and over 200kg with asthma, non have suffered with it🤷‍♂️. Yep, I am firmly in the “storm in a tea cup” camp now.

and yes, France still over reacting too, so no, there is nowhere to go and meet people anyway:banghead:

I did start to get my doubts when my 101 year old aunt took it in her stride 😊

It seems to be certain sectors that suffer, fat people and those with dark skin, saw a report the other day that said muslims/asians were 6% of Germany's population yet were over 50 % of those in ICU beds, in the UK it is this sector who are hardest to convince over the vaccine

Tbh, now, I feel somewhat ashamed of taking it so seriously 😞

actually, I hadn’t twigged it untill this moment, all last year the wireless had a pandemic warning three times per hour. Of course, in the winter I don’t do that kind of tractor work but just noticed, no Covid broadcasts anymore👍

I tried to make a point a while back that seemed to go over your head...
I knew a few who died rallying, I had a couple of “ biggies” myself. It didn’t stop me rallying. I guess I’ve lived my life taking my chances 👍. So far, so good, if not, so be it🤷‍♂️

Mmm avoiding the media definitely helps in putting it into perspective.
Had to put a bluetooth radio in tractor when this started to keep calm

When the wife’s first rely got it (between Christmas and new year), it was a big deal and we were all watching in fear, after a few weeks, it’s a case of oh, by the way, so and so had it last week - no probs

Mmm there was a moment when I caught it last March, as I got a bit breathless when I thought to myself...well you've told everyone it's a non deadly virus , be "funny" if you were wrong and you keeled over!
But no, it it doesn't kill the fit and healthy
