Slightly off topic.
Our MF38 was a nice combine, and the weigher was pretty accurate.
Shame you had to fill in a form in connection with the radio active part of the weighing system, as if it was a nuclear power station!!!!!!
One or two farmers had a hefty fine for forgetting to fill in the form (n) (n)

All the basics really, we haven’t had the issue behind the fan as the 34 doesn’t have the double shaking pan the bigger ones do. Check dv1 and make sure all works. Is it power flow?

The bubble up auger can sometime have issues check the UJ and bearings. Same with top of clean and returns augers. Just check they are good.
A 34 doesn't have the same sieves as a 36 .?
I thought the only difference was the RS and hp !?

Think it has the same as a 36 but the 38/40 have the double rocking that block as I understood as the transfer pan is shorter and it is the small rocking bit over the fan that drops the corn in. Anyway good practice to keep the area clean but I don’t do it once a day

Anyone ran a 31xp before. Friend is looking at buying one to do his small bit but wonders if you need different sieves for rape on these combines or if you can set them for rape and wheat on the same sieve as it doesn’t have extra sieves with them machine. Any good or bad points to add to these machines? It’s a 1991 red chassis with 3300 hours on and been barn stores from new each night

We have a 29 xp here and we use a different small hole sieve for rape .
Maybe the combine has had a few mods done to strengthen the sieve box if not then the can give a lot of trouble .
We had a steep learning curve with ours and electric problems were common but it has proved fairly reliable these last few years .
Once you know what to watch out for the are not to bad and the can be bought very cheap so you dont be long getting your moneys worth .
But warn your friend their will be days when he will be wishing he never seen her and days when she will run like a sewing machine .
Others may have different views perhaps@warksfarmer would care to comment ...
