Wreckers!!

Exactly, I’ve seen silage traikers, muck spreaders an slurry tankers on trailers like that with no problem as long as they’re loaded with correct amount of nose weight. For that LR they should have removed headboard and fitted a lower one so as to over hang the bumper over the front.

Has any one read the Facebook comments? Apparently it was the fault of the trailer and load being heavier than towing vehicle so was expected!! 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈

Reminds me a few years ago i went to collect an old slurry tanker for parts in Anglesey. Loaded on to tri axle ifor with handler. I was assured by the vendor it was completely empty and to be fair it didn’t look bad at all on the Ifor or on the handler whilst loading, but I had a suspicion it was possibly a little heavy for an empty tanker.

Anyhow strapped up and off we set, and about 200yds out on B road that led to the farm I decided to preform a brake test to gauge the weight on the trailer. As the overrun brake kicked in and the load left in the tanker moved, the shogun tow bar slammed into the tarmac leaving it firmly planted on the road😳

Needless to say the vendor was summoned and it was unloaded there and then. We did a deal on some of the parts and stripped the tanker and left the rest for scrap.

lesson learned

Anyone want a cheap lathe?

My elderly dad, dear love him, got caught out on a snowy night. Ridge of snow in the middle of the road was hard packed, wandered into it momentarily, and the rest is history. This is the defender half pulled up out of the ditch, but the little Kramer didn't have the guts to get it the rest of the way. Had to set it back down again and call for the neighbours 320s.

Everything in the back of course ended up in the front. Including a full bucket of sand, which he had taken with him to use on an icy lane. And so the sand was in all the front pockets, the radio, the windscreen heater vents etc. Was coming out of her for months after. Pretty scary thing for an old boy.

Lucky father indeed made me chuckle the thought of getting sand blasted for months after using the heater

We used to have a old chap that used to drive around in a old Reliant Robin van many years ago , for a fair few years he used to swear by putting a couple of paving slab's in the back when we had some snow ,,,,,,,, always remember seeing his Robin after the front wheel had decided it was going to go the way he wanted and he ended up rolling it , he reckoned that he thought these slabs were going to join him in the front for a second or two but luckily for him they went out through the roof ,,,,,,,,,, took it down the local canoe man to get it patched up afterwards😁

Good story!

I still to this day can't work out how he managed to climb out of it. I mean it was absolutely vertical standing on its nose in an 8' deep ditch. So when he would have opened the door there was nothing to stand on except the door itself!
