a very common adjuvant here, helps with the uptake of glypho
It is on the glypho label & APVM approved, so nothing dodgy about it šŸ˜

common rate is 0.5kg / 100 l of water.
Our ā€œnormalā€ water rate is around 80 l / ha, so 400 g / ha of AS

donā€™t you normally use it in the UK ?
No itā€™s not the norm at all, itā€™s one of those cheats that can go horribly wrong if you put it in with a standard herbicide while the crop is growing...

Nice view from the office today, half expected to come across a string of donkeys to go along with the seaside sparrows.

yeah, we only use it ( & as far as I know itā€™s only approved ) with glyphosate, when we are aiming to kill everything in a fallow or pre - plant situation. We certainly donā€™t use it in crop with selective herbicides

from the Nufarm DST Glpyphosate 470 label, as an example

TANK MIXTURES - ADDITIVES Nufarm Liase (417g/L ammonium sulphate liquid) RATE: 2L per 100 litres spray solution. Nufarm Liase may be used as an adjuvant to alleviate the adverse effects of high levels of calcium, magnesium and bicarbonate ions in water. The addition of Nufarm Liase to weedmaster DST, when used to control annual weeds, MAY improve the performance of weedmaster DST under adverse environmental conditions such as cool cloudy weather. Nufarm Liase may also improve the performance of tank mixtures of weedmaster DST and atrazine or simazine. Ammonium sulphate may be corrosive to metal parts of the sprayer. Thoroughly flush tanks, pumps and nozzles with water after use. Solubility and impurity profiles of other forms of ammonium sulphate can vary and may reduce the performance of weedmaster DST or tank mixtures.

As for mice . . .
Dried out enough to walk around & inspect mungs a bit better than just the edge of the track.
Mice are active again, they have cleaned out their holes after the rain & are now targeting the larger pods & going straight for the seeds inside, rather than the flower spiklets like they were before. Rain & cooler nights doesnā€™t seem to have affected them much.
Am putting the plane over the mungs again ASAP with more bait. Crucial to get it on quickly, as the crop canopy is getting quite thick & once they start getting a taste for the green mungbean grains, the bait of 3 treated wheat seeds per square metre may not be as attractive to them as it was

When we baited the sorghum first time, someone asked if contamination of the grain was an issue, with the bait. Thatā€™s not a problem, as itā€™s only 1kg / ha & none of the baits would have been retained in the heads of the sorghum, which is all we harvest, leaving the stubble long. Anyway - now that people are harvesting sorghum, there are reports of contamination ( & rejections ) of the grain with mouse shĆ®t. As the mice are crawling all over the heads of the sorghum chasing the seed & shiĆ®tting ( they are constantly pĆ®ssing & shĆ®tting on everything, dirt filthy little bĆ rstĆ rds), it is ending up in the grain sample. So, people are having to grade / clean the mouse shĆ®t out of it before they can deliver it . . . There is always something

I never said it was easy

Impressive seed head. Is it used as is or to make a sweetener?
