Workboots

So far I really rate the two pairs of Amblers I have. Be aware that some of the versions have Thinsulate linings, (440 Skormer and 995 Pilar I think) and they are bloody toasty. Too toasty for me in anything other than winter, hence I have had to buy a second pair of Amblers boots for when it isn't cold.

Great! just the ones I ordered for this year, right for 40 degree's Aude temperatures :)

I was after zips because I hate having to lace up the boots, spend more time doing that than working and obviously I've got to see the good wife....

Any other ones which have ankle support, zip and better for the summer? - I'll have to see if Redbacks ship here.

You may be fine.
It may just be me as I have a problem of my feet getting too hot, and they don't feel the cold.

Ordered a pair of William Lennon boots before Christmas, still waiting on them. Good boots only seem to last 6-9months. I got a pair of Oliver AT's great comfy boot but just about a year out of them before they have started to fall apart.

I got a pair of buckler lace up/zip boots and didn't like them. Not easy to get on and off even with the zip, heavy and too hot. Tried them for 3 weeks but have thrown them in the cupboard. Back to redbacks that are like wearing slippers. Wish I saved the buckler money for redback cobar boots.

They look good. How waterproof are they?

Have a look at William Lennon's website
Worth the wait.
I have the traditional work boot from them lasts me a couple of years.
Good hard rubber sole which can be redone if necessary ,all leather no artificial padding just good comfy boots.
Probably a bit old fashioned for most but I highly recommended

They’ve not got a waterproof membrane so id say water resistant. Can’t remember my feet getting wet. Deal direct you get extra goodies included. Very good returns. Got a pair of walking boots from them that are excellent.

Salomon quest prime gtx walking boots, non safety but supremely comfortable and very light. About £120. Wouldn’t wear dealer or riggers ever again too easy to get an injury or tendon problems with their non existent support.
There is some thinking now that ankle support leads to weak ankles & tendons, if you constantly wore a hard cast to support your wrists after a while your wrists would become very weak.

Last years workboots are nackered so time for a new pair, but what has been my choice for the last few years are now discontinued (DeWalt maxi 2) Have tried loads of £20-£60 pairs over the years which just fall apart after a few months, including dickies, amblers and Hoggs, whereas the dewalts would do 18 months a time. so what do people recommend?
Must be Lace up with good ankle support and steel toe so no pull on riggers or dealer boots.
Hi There

I have just updated the sizes of Redbacks on Farm Marketplace that are ready and available :) We also have a similar boot from Bucklers Called Dealerz, Slightly cheaper but apparently just as good (y) see link below
