worse if yer then have to keep the off spring for another. 5 months to get weight on itLambing ewes is a piece of p!$$
The expense of keeping them for 9 months so they milk for 3 months is the dumb bit
That’s an ignorant commentA ‘no deal’ Brexit would likely have been ruinous to the sheep industry, thankfully that was averted for us when Boris sold out the Northern Irish and the fisherman.

The race to the bottom has just been won ! £40.00 fat lamb is back !
Not from Andrew they won't be. His are mainly export lambs on contract. They're a super premium product sold on eating quality (due to the consistently high levels of intramuscular fat). The race to the bottom has just been won ! £40.00 fat lamb is back !
I was just joking about the 400% when you pass 45 mile stone you begin to realise less for more is easier than more for lessNot from Andrew they won't be. His are mainly export lambs on contract. Calm down. I can't see ewes getting 12-14 nipples anytime soon.if lambing ewes get easier and ewes more productive....we'll end up like pig boys
This is the ultimate goalIn a clean grazing/clover rich grazing scenario with sufficient management & labour input there is no reason why you can't rear 350%/year & compete with most other crops on a £ per hectare basis
But for me one of the appealing things about sheep is that i am not a slave like most dairy men
No its notThat’s an ignorant comment
Everyone sold out lanbs before brexitWhat happened to Brexit being the death knell for lamb & beef producers, nobody in their wildest dreams could have foreseen these prices

I be not sold a single lamb yet and I’m lambing againI got £127 at boswells last week
To be fair, I sold up - landowners were taking land back in hand because of subs uncertainty, the risk of depreciation of my flock (and pension) increased, and so I cashed in. Even if I hadn't, I don't know if the grazing situation would have bounced back, and I made decent enough money.Everyone sold out lanbs before brexit
