UK Fuels Fuel Card

We have had one of the above for a long while without any problems. Receive an email weekly with price for the week and weekly bill paid by direct debit.
Latest bill arrived this morning. I have not checked the bill for a while as we have been using very little fuel as lambing and Covid restrictions. Today's bill startled me when I saw 2 entries for over £100 to fill L200. They had charged 159.4p per litre!!
OH checked bills and this started in February but as we have not filled L200 up much I had not noticed.
Telephoned UK Fuels where a lady informed me that this was correct at all UK Fuel and Morrisons sites as they were adding VAT onto the price they quote me which they have never done before. I logged a complaint and await hearing further.
Now I am aware they can charge what they like and it is for us to choose to pay or go elswhere. Just wondered if anyone else had similar experience.

I can understand that but security concerns and fact the garage is half a mile from road end along with the fact we only had one diesel vehicle until recently made this unviable.
It may well be the solution though.

All-star manage to add "extras" disguised as surcharges

When queried, I was told they are opt out costs. So how frequently do they need opted out? Depends when they apply them says the girl on the end of the phone, might be next year, or next month....

Aye, just cancel the cards please love, I'm not paying hundreds of pounds in your company's scams thank you

Fuel card companies are even bigger bàstards than supermarkets

Use credit cards and just get till receipts now

The site did get new owners earlier this year so maybe a new regime with new tricks. At the end of the day it has not amounted to much as we noticed and may just have to write it off.
What I can't understand is that petrol is pump price and son refuelled with diesel on a none UK Fuel site and that was pump price also.
Yes the credit card option may be best. Just a pain keeping all the receipts in order.

I use harvest energy. Find them very competitive, as long as you don't use supermarket fuel pumps.

We've fuel cards with Esso, it's just pump price on diesel so no saving. Petrol is supposed to be cheaper, but can't remember how much.

Only have them for convenience as there's a card stays in each vehicle, saves dad buggering off home but needing fuel on the way... and we don't see the credit card for a week til he remembers to bring it back!🤣

This is why we have them. 4 cards, one for each driver and was pump price so very handy. Still is for petrol!
Can't pay extra 20% though and will need to decide on another system.
