Suppose you think Blair or Corbyn would be a better alternative, can just imagine people all over the world rushing to see that pair.
Up to you if you wish to fawn over Royalty, point made is that BBC to whom we are required to pay a fee to gave no option but to see the same pre recorded programmes across their channels and airwaves. Not sure of the relevance of the two labour politicians you mention in your post?

I can't stand the monarchy.

I don't know why I have to keep seeing this.

The institution is fundamentally at odds with the principles of a successful modern state.

Publically celebrating the life of a man who embodied this is abhorrent.
If you don't want to keep seeing it, ignore the thread - you're very much in the minority happily and you can always find a republic elsewhere

Not the day to post your views. If I were you I would keep them to yourself and have some respect for a man who devoted his life to his wife, family and country.

My slant;
After my dad died my Mothers widowed friends welcomed her into their 'club'. After 60 something years of looking after the old boy she now has a life outside that of marriage and devotion which was the 'old way'. From my Mothers perspetive she is actually having a fantastic time. I do hope HM The Queen has a circle of friends who can take her under their wing and take her out to lunch and to a posh hotel in the New Forest for a week-end of pampering. OK, HM has Balmoral and other places but it's the friendship of other widows that makes an important contribution to an old ladies time after the death of their husband. I really hope HM The Queen is looked after in a different way than all those condolences that she is and will receive in the short term future. She after all, is now a widow.

Ah the 'merino' post. You can always live in America or Brazil or Ukraine where a stable comfortable life is rather harder to find.......Now there's a challenge! Go on be daring.
I'd put your comment in the 'yoof' bracket where you haven't exactly achieved a lot in life so far, perhaps you will always struggle? Monarchy is part of the UK. I don't envy them at all but they are part of our identity. We would be a hell of a lot poorer in so many ways if there was no Monarchy.
