With commission at over 4% and also charged for clipping it looks very expensive, firmly believe that we should resist clipping charges, the place to clip them is on the line, the cleanest and cheapest way for all concerned

Remember the deductions only look big when the prices we are getting are good.
It would be worth getting you up here and watching you perform a deal for these sheep on farm with some of the buyers
Once you have secured a price at least as good then you would need to guarantee actually getting paid.
If you can do this and if you are as good as you say you are we don’t need to send anything to the mart and pay expensive commission and off takes
The only thing I don’t agree with is the MLC levy as I don’t know what it is I’m paying for.
Im told its marketing but as a member of the general public and a buyer of beef and lamb not seeing any advertisements for either makes me disagree with it.

I have heard there is a lot of cull cows coming out early due to forage availability.
Pulls them down in the autumn and takes em back in the spring. Will bring down 000s of ewes for 1 more season.

Mate told me Pickstocks is on long lead time as well.
Will see what the next couple of weeks does although I'm finished with deadweight till back end now

Yeh I put a few heifers into local buther they % a lot better than major players % out just killed and weighed can nearly get a good 600kg heifer to be as good as a 700kg bullock

people must be still using a lot of feed, surely it will have an impact somewhere.
Waiting list to get them in
Rumours last week that the beef price was going to drop abit and firms couldnt sell the beef but im not so sure tbh, i think they are just desperate to keep a lid on price. Drought was there only hope but theres a fair drop of rain about next week and with covid pretty bad still abroad, most people will be staying in this country and spending a abit more on treats etc so it should remain strong.
