On the other hand some of those spray ranger types are based on Land Rover running gear which is not the strongest with a big load or steepish ground

Neither have I but from reading on here that used to be the problem. Believe some of the newer ones may have an electronic way of restricting the flow of oil to the spinning wheel

You can help that situation by putting that axle in hi and the other in low it will put more torque to the low to get out of the wet hole, not a perfect solution but will get you out most times.

In the Agribuggy I have yes, the engine/box/diff is Landrover but the axles are some Italian make, outboards discs on every wheel. Not really a lot to go wrong. Think the more modern ones are a lot better still as I believe they did away with the Landrover engine (it's not actually a Landrover lump but one built abroad with a variable vane turbo)
