Here several years ago there was uproar in the organic community over imported Eastern Europe grain not being organic but being sold as such. Went on for years apparently. How would a ban on soybeans be enforced ?
I don’t think North America can supply soybeans any more sustainable than anywhere else at a broad acre scale using current practices. It’s an immense amount of P to repeatedly remove and ship round the world with all of the associated degradation issues with most crops. Thing is we got rid of our rainforest equivalent last century or two and are busy mining that soil built by prairie.
