I have Nectar Flower Mix, Flower Rich Margins and Plots and Winter Bird Food. How do I code these options? ATM I have got WBF and NFM as a crop mixes 1 & 2, and FRM&P as temporary grass; would this be correct?

I guess as we don't need 3 crops then I could. I have 6m margins that I code with the crop, but a 2ha block of something different is possible a grey area??

Just gone through this on Thursday. Code the with the main field option. If it’s something specific fixed or rotational option code with that option.

Sorry, can you clarify by 'specific or rotational' do you mean a whole parcel? Some rotational options might only occupy part of a large field parcel.

Sow say whole field code is spring oats that is code for bps form. If same field had low input cereals and undersown cereal you put that in rotational on the CS annual claim form.

What codes do you use if stewardship option is full parcel?
Guidance seems to say code as per crop in rest of field (so presuming your planting margins or field corners). I've got AB1 in full fields.

Rural payments: land use codes 2023
What land use codes to use in 2023 when declaring land in a rural payments application such as the Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) and Countryside Stewardship (CS).

AB1 full field - I would use a mixed cropping code Ac58 - 62. My experience is Natural England will come back to you with an email later in year when processing the claim to ask if wrong code used. But do not take that comment as gospel!! Best wishes.
I agree. When we were in the Countryside Stewardship we chose a different mixed cropping code (AC58-62) for each of the nectar plots, arable plants and wild bird food plots on the BPS form and there were no queries. I hope it is run better now, but our CS agreement came to an end in December and it was just too much hassle to do it again for the money (when you eventually got it).Rural payments: land use codes 2023
